If your feed has been looking like a Crumbl Cookies fan page lately, you are not alone. These giant and delicious cookies have made a flavorful comeback in the past few years and have been rapidly growing ever since, with new flavors every week. Founding Crumbl in 2017, co-founders — and cousins — Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley teamed up to find the ideal cookie recipe, and after lots of trial and error, created their perfect chocolate chip cookie.
Since then, the company has been growing in all aspects. The stores have expabded almost sixfold in just three years, and customers have increased business sales to 1.7 million dollars in sales annually. The idea of structuring the bakery as an open-concept kitchen presents customers with a thrilling viewing experience, allowing them to watch their cookies being made. Every week, the menu rotates, adding six new or returning flavors all across the country. Crumbl is the fastest-growing chain of dessert shops in the United States, according to the New York Times. The company also creates its own advertisements, using social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram and even Pinterest to announce the weekly cookie flavors.
“[Crumbl cookies are] amazing, the love of my life,” FHS senior Noa Halevy said. “Honestly, I cannot go without it. I go to Crumbl once a week, every week, and maybe even twice a week if the cookies are really good.”
The company has gotten so popular on social media that its number of followers has surpassed other large food and drinks corporations such as Starbucks and McDonald’s. Halevy expressed excitement over Crumbl’s growing social media presence, as the fame earns the company more revenue, which is used to develop new flavors.
“I’m really proud because I feel like they need more recognition,” FHS sophomore Ashley Lopez said.
Recently Crumbl has gained even more popularity thanks to the viral “lookie, lookie, lookie, it’s Crumbl Cookie” song by the TurnUpTwinsTv on TikTok. Some have been showing their appreciation of Crumbl by reposting and remaking the viral video of ‘the crumbl cookies girls’ on TikTok. The twin sisters and other influencers have been showcasing and reviewing the weekly rotating flavors which fans can’t get enough of, like the classic Milk Chocolate Chip or the Chocolate Oreo Cookie.
“My favorite [cookie] is probably the milk chocolate chip one, or the cheesecake,” Halevy said.
In the week of Sept. 23, Crumbl revealed its birthday menu, celebrating its seven-year founding anniversary, with iconic, well-loved flavors like Confetti Cake, Birthday Cake and Peanut Butter with Snickers.
“I would describe them in two words, very yummy, and very delicious,” Lopez said.
In October, fans and customers can look forward to seeing some iconic and well beloved cookies make a comeback, like the Cookie Dough Cookie, Chocolate Cake, Carmel Apple and more. Crumbl Cookie continues to delight customers with innovative flavors and creativity, making it a must try.
