On March 21, 2024, FHS freshmen, sophomores and juniors cast their votes for the 2024-25 ASB Cabinet: a group of four students that run and manage the ASB class. The four members of next year’s ASB cabinet are Brian Goldshtein, Krishna Kemisetti, Shrika Punuganti and Ryan Wong; Wong is the only member of the cabinet who is not a rising senior.
“I think with my past experiences of being a debate captain, leading sophomore cab and freshmen cab, I have the qualifications even if I am a junior,” Wong said.
Wong believes he has the knowledge needed to make him a competent member. One of Wong’s main goals is to make ASB operations more transparent to the FHS student body.
Also on ASB cabinet is rising senior Krishna Kemisetti. Kemisetti’s experiences with leadership are plentiful, including two years in ASB, and being on freshman and sophomore cabinet.
“I ran for ASB cab is because it has a fundamental leadership role in the school and I really wanted to be someone who would be a force for change and help the school improve,” Kemisetti said.
The goal of transparency is a common goal for the entire cabinet. Shrika Punuganti, after being a part of the Class of 2025 Cabinet for two years and in the ASB class for a year, aims to work towards this goal through online media.
“We wanted there to be ways people could see what we were doing, such as newsletters, and we are planning on making blogs as well as making a monthly cover each month [for] ASB events that are happening,” Punuganti said.
Kemisetti agreed, describing plans he has for the next school year.
“One of the first things I’m going to do is start a newsletter and make monthly events,” Kemisetti said. “We’re gonna give monthly summaries of what each commission on ASB does.”
Last but not least is rising senior Brian Goldshtein. He will be serving his second term during the 2024-25 school year, and aims to build upon what he has started this year. The ultimate goal of ASB is to make the student experience at FHS more enjoyable, which Goldshtien has made that his primary objective.
“My personal goal has been to increase the groups on campus that are able to engage in [ASB] events,” Goldshtein said.
