Anime is an animation style that originated in Japan. It can be either computer-generated or hand-drawn and first became popular in the 1980’s. One of the first animes to ever be released to the public was “The Dull Sword,” which came out in 1917. Some of the most popular anime studios are MAPPA, Studio Bones, Wit Studio, Studio Ghibli, Kyoto Animation and Madhouse. Anime’s popularity grew in the USA from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Some of the animes that contributed to the success were Pokemon, Naruto and Sailor Moon.
Popular modern anime include “Demon Slayer” and “My Hero Academia.” People should watch anime because of how much thought is put into the process of making it. There are compelling aspects put into anime to make it more interesting for viewers. Anime can also be very thought-provoking. For example, the anime “Psycho Pass” was similar to the criminal element that was going on in Japan at the time, giving a perspective into what crime was like at the time.
Another thing about anime is that it is very calm and relaxing while there is a lot going on in people’s lives. It can help people escape reality for a while and give a new perspective on life. Anime also does not have the same plot line per episode as they tend to add more to it each episode, so as to not get boring. Plot lines give anime more popularity once more lines are added to the anime, people are able to understand it more clearly.
Another reason why people should watch anime is because of how much detail and time is put into the animation. There is a lot of hard work that is put into animating the scenes and making sure that the voice actors fit well with their characters.
Anime also has a lot of spectacular places and sceneries that you do not normally see in real life. Just one glimpse of anime, you already feel like you’re in a new world. The scenery may be ordinary and plain in reality but in anime, they add more details to such ordinary scenery.
Anime also does not tend to focus on relationships. While some people may like romance and tend to want to see that, there are also people who don’t like romance and think that it’s a waste of time. Animes such as “One Punch Man,” “Hunter X Hunter,” “Bungou Stray Dogs” and “Death Note” are not about romance in their show. Romantic anime include shows such as “Toradora,” “HoriMiya” and “My Teen Romantic Comedy.” Romance is not always the major key in anime, sometimes it is focused on family, friendship or protecting the people you love.
Anime also has a lot of child-friendly shows. Therefore, if you like kid-friendly material, anime’s such as “Spirited Away,” “Ponyo,” “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Howl’s Moving Castle” are good options. Anime is not just for children, it is for people of all ages.
Anime also shows interest in sports. There are a lot of sports anime out there such as “Haikyuu,” “Free!” and “Kuroko No Basket.” Anime also gives a good focus on a brief history that has happened, such as the anime “Black Butler,” which gave a look into the Victorian-era in England during the late 19th century. Another example is “Vinland Saga” which also was placed in England but it gave a good description of the Vikings in the England war. This can help if students or teachers want to try and make learning about England more interesting. Anime also isn’t always just a series; there are times when anime is a movie, such as “The Wind Rises,” “Your Name” and “A Silent Voice.” These were movies so if you don’t like sitting down and just watching a series you can also enjoy a movie. When it comes to wanting to watch either horror, kid-friendly, romance, LGBTQ+ or even just comedy, anime has always provided for people to watch and enjoy. Students would want to watch anime because it has a lot of opportunities for them and can give them a whole new experience in the perspective of the real world.
