Introducing Phoenix Creative

This year, we are happy to announce the official launch of Phoenix Creative, a brand new section in Fremont High School’s newspaper. This section is not exclusive to journalism students and we are open to submissions from all FHS students. We will publish short stories, poems, drawings, comics and more!

For our first issue, we decided to share pieces from a sophomore project done in the 2019-2020 school year. Students were asked to research an underrepresented perspective from World War 2 or the Cold War and present their research in a creative way. Here we’ve displayed some of the projects students came up with: poems about being gay in the military, diary entries portraying life in the Gulags, and drawings depicting the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall.

Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in writing for our next issue!
