After multiple sightings together, superstar Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made it official. Although this new relationship has thrilled most of the world, some people are not happy with the amount of attention it is getting — including Travis Kelce himself.

Kelce was first spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour on July 8, 2023, at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. Later on, in a podcast by New-heights co-hosted by Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce, the football star was questioned about his appearance at the concert. He claimed that he tried to get Swift’s attention and even made her a friendship bracelet with his number on it. Then the star said that he was a little “butthurt” that he did not get the chance to talk to her and hand her the bracelet. 

In an article from “Us Magazine,” Swift was claimed to be seen in the same stadium in Missouri while Kelce and the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 31-17. During the football game, the camera persistently focused on Swift. Most football fans who watched the game stated on social media that they were highly annoyed by this occurrence since it happened repeatedly. After the game, the NFL’s social media accounts posted Taylor Swift paparazzi photos and even changed their Instagram bio to “Taylor Was Here,” referring to Taylor’s appearance at the game. 

Following Swift’s presence at the game, the sales for Travis Kelce’s jerseys had a 400% increase, the NFL confirmed. Some fans have attempted to dress up as the couple for Halloween and show their support by purchasing jerseys.

“It is a little overdoing it because we are here to watch the football game and not to watch Taylor Swift,” FHS freshman football player Jack Jen said. “It does not need to be a big announcement. It probably made him a little bit more famous, but he was already a really popular title.”

Swifties already started to believe that this relationship was fate. In an article from “Who Magazine”, it was explained that Swift predicted this relationship because of the lyrics to the song “Mary’s Song.” Swift sings the lyric, “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89, I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine.” Swifties explained this as an “invisible string” because Kelce’s jersey number is 87. There is also another theory that they are destined for each other because he is her alleged thirteenth boyfriend, and Swift’s lucky number is 13.

Despite the controversy surrounding their relationship, Swift and Kelce continue to amaze the world with their compatibility. Hopefully this time, Swift found “the 1” for her.
