A wise man once said “with great ability comes great accountability”. With the new release of the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer, Marvel Studios showed their great ability to hype up Spider-Man fanatics. But with that coming hype, could Marvel Studio be accountable for a new great Spider-Man movie or is it just some hogwash that Marvel prints out for profit?

Analysis must be done in order to answer the aforementioned question. The facts as well as the movie’s trailer must be laid bare so as to determine if the movie lives up to it.

In “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, the previous installment of the series, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was dealt a bad hand by his encounter with Mysterio. (His bad hand being his secret identity revealed to the public.)  Now with so many heads turned his way, Spider-Man gets heckled for set-ups Mysterio planted onto him before his untimely demise. In the trailer, now plain old Peter Parker, not Spider-Man anymore, turns to the only man who could possibly help him out, a man with mystical powers which in theory could wipe people’s minds of his revealed identity.

Turning to the magical Doctor Strange, Parker enlists his help first without the knowledge of the magic he would partake. But then Parker started to second guess his decision as it would have major ramifications on his life. But it is too late, and Parker gets in the doctor’s way, messing up his spell. This causes a tear in the Marvel Mutli-Verse which brings in an influx of new and old foes Spider-Man must face.

This is the end of the plot revealed in the trailer. But there were other things revealed to make this trailer legendary. Old villains return from past incarnations of Spider-Man. Leaks and rumors foreshadow a crossover between the three live action Spider-Men movies.

As of yet, nothing has been told officially by either Sony or Marvel Studios. The only guide to what the movie will unveil is the trailer. Villains come back from the previous movie series of Spider-Man straight from the classic Raimi Trilogy and the Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.

Old Villains such as the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Electro have all been sighted in the trailer. Most not physically, but signified through their weapons and skills. A goblin bomb rolling down as a familiar laughter plays. Or a sudden burst of thunder strikes down. But the main reveal of the trailer is Doctor Octopus, with his appearance near the end of the trailer.

But with the arrival of old villains, many speculate the arrival of some old heroes. Circulating around the internet, there seems to be Andrew Garfield wearing his Spider-Man costume from his films talking to another person to his side. Since the video was in HD 8k quality many assume this was a leak from the filming of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. Most assume this is the case but the video did not just reveal one past Spider-Man — but two.

Right off in the left hand side of the video seems to be a familiar red glove, which could resemble the glove of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suit. This drove the community deep into speculation as more evidence began to emerge.

The news of all three Spider-Man actors being suspiciously placed in New York got the community giddy. This gave more proof to all three actors filming together, producing “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

But these pieces of evidence are just that: pieces of evidence. No concrete answer from Sony or Marvel Studios has surfaced on the matter.

All-in-all from the trailer, leaks and appearances, the new “Spider-Man: No Way Home” movie is shaping up to be great. But only the completed movie can show how it finally shaped up. Is it going to be the best Spider-Man movie ever, or nostalgia bait?
